Historical Development of Fixed Electric Lifting Platform

Date of release:2019-05-25 Author: Click:

High-altitude lifting platforms emerge with the demand for vertical transportation, as long as human civilization. The original lifting platform uses basic power modes such as manpower, animal power and hydraulic power to lift weight. Before the Industrial Revolution, these forks were widely used by manufacturers of adjustable hydraulic stacker trucks. In ancient Greece, Archimedes developed an improved lifting device operated by rope and pulley, which used winches and levers to wrap the lifting rope around the winding column. In AD 80, gladiators and wildlife arrived at the height of the Colosseum in the Roman Grand Theatre on primitive lifting platforms. Medieval records include countless people with lifts and patterns supplied for isolated locations. One of the most famous is the lifting platform of St. Barram Monastery in Greece.

The monastery is located on the top of a hill about 61 meters above the ground. The hoist uses baskets or cargo nets to carry people and goods up and down.

In 1203, the lifting platform of a monastery on the French coast was mounted on a giant treadmill, powered by donkeys. By winding a rope around a giant post, the load was lifted. In the 18th century, the world entered the first industrial revolution. As a more convenient and efficient power, mechanical force began to be widely used in lifting platforms. During this period, the lifting platform developed rapidly, which played an important role in paving the way for the future development of the lifting platform.

In 1743, Louis XV of France authorized the installation of hydraulic platform vehicles for personnel lifting platforms using balances in private palaces in Versailles.

In 1833, a system using reciprocating poles lifted miners in the Hartz Mountains region of Germany.

In 1835, a belt-driven lifting platform, known as a winch, was installed in a factory in Britain. In 1846, the first industrial water pressure lifting platform appeared. Then other power lifts came along very quickly. In 1854, American mechanic Otis invented a ratchet mechanism, which displayed a safe lifting platform at the New York Trade Fair.

In 1889, when the Eiffel Tower was built, a lifting platform powered by steam was installed, and then a split cylinder platform car was used.

In 1892, the lifting equipment of Mount Astilero in Chile was built. Until now, 15 lifting platforms still use mechanical equipment more than 110 years ago. At present, the highest achievement of the world lifting platform should be a lifting platform on the Santa Gotha Tunnel being built in Glaubinden, Switzerland. The Santa Gotha Tunnel is a 57-kilometre underground railway tunnel from the Alps ski resort to other European countries. It is expected to open to traffic in 2016. In the "Alps" high-speed train station about 800 meters from the ground, a hydraulic platform car manufacturer will be built directly to the ground. When completed, it will be the longest lifting platform in the world. After arriving at the ground through the lifting platform, passengers can take the Alpine Glacier Tourist Express train, which will reach the resort on the mountain in two hours.
